Thank you to all of the parents who have responded in relation to the trip to Poland. It is clear that I have your support in this venture and I am pleased to announce that we should have 13-14 children travelling along with 10-11 adults, making a party size of 25.
I can now go ahead and start to make the necessary arrangements. I expect the flight details to be released any day now and hope to make firm bookings by the end of the week.
Those of you who can place a deposit before Christmas should do so as I require to make the bookings using my own credit card!

Santa's Helpers
Santa wrote me a letter last week saying that he was impressed by how hard the Tarves PTA had worked in 2007. In particular, he mentioned a few elves who had made sure that the gifts from Lapland had been labeled correctly and packed to Santa's exacting standards.
He also said that the parents deserved a pat on the back for providing so many special treats for the children's parties. The tables were absolutely full and any food leftover would be given out at playtimes to the children in the final week running up to the Christmas break.
Santa asked me to ask the boys and girls whether they prefered him in his 'cool shades' or without them?
Give us your opinion in the comments section and get interactive with us!!
There are no excuses for not gettuing in touch with us!

Into the Final week before Christmas
The children are excited, and by the time you read this they would have celebrated the Christmas parties and Santa would have paid them a visit.
In addition to all of that the nursery and children in P1-4 have been preparing their Nativity Play entitled 'Tinsel & Teatowels'.

We would like to invite you to their performance of this in the Melvin Hall on Wednesday, 19th December 2007 at 9.45 am. Tickets are available from the school and at the door.
Come and see the children perform their lines and songs and marvel at their enthusiasm and application. Something not to be missed!!!
As a footnote can I thank everyone involved with the play in any way for their help. It is always truly appreciated.!

See some of the children's Early videos
We have another 'Blog' site that we will use to share material from other schools.
We are just starting on eTwinning and have made contact with a school in Poland and one in France.
We will be sharing our work with them and that is why the 'Blog' is called 'The School Meeting Place'.
Find it at http://tarvessch.blogspot.com/
Our Blog site will soon only be accessible to parents/guardians and eTwinning associates and we hope to keep it a healthy and safe environment.

School Parties
This week I would like to remind you about the children's parties.
On Thursday we will have the P1/2/3 party, starting at 1.15pm, with early lunches from 12.00 pm - 1.00 pm.
On Friday the nursery class will hold its party in the morning and the P5/6/7 classes will have their party in the afternoon.
All our children have been very good so Santa has agreed to visit them!
Would you please remember that there does not need to be a large amount of party food. as the children would have had their lunch some hour and a half earlier.
Could we ask you to make your donations for the parties on the day of the party, in order that any perishable item remains in top condition. Please choose a 'healthy option' if you can... however parties are special and 'treats' in moderation will also be accepted.
Thank you to the mums on the PTA for offering their help in preparing for the party and Santa's visit.
